SmileMoving to Fingerlakes

Hi Plantswap NY... purchased an organic farm in the Fingerlakes region, hubby and I are "retiring". This will be our second year of garlic growing, we doubled to 2000+ plants this year, joining the Webster festival and several farmers markets this year. Still getting the house in NJ ready to sell, should be soon. Really has been overwhelming, will miss my NJ home. Hubby's from western NY, and the plan has always been to return. Recovered 3 more fields last year put into cover crop of winter rye & vetch, soon to be turned in.. Asparagus coming in fast now, strawberries and raspberries soon. Any other gardeners in the area? We are north of Lyons.

Congrats!! What an exciting life change
I was just browsing your new pix, and that row of garlic made my mouth water.

There is a really nice restaurant in a town nearby which we get to every now and then - they work exclusively with local growers and always have the most wonderful fresh, seasonal produce.
The salads there are always special, full of goodies like garlic scapes, and squash blossoms, nasturtium petals ... yum!

How wonderful. I am sure you are very excited too. The Finger lakes are absolutely beautiful, especially in the fall. All the best on your new home.
