- I am 54 yrs. old, married 35 yrs. 2 children 6 grandchildren.We bought a fixer upper with 1.5 acre 2004. I started perennial gardening 2005 when I wanted flowers,shrubs & trees to fill up the land. My home sits right on the corner of our land with 2 road frontage,a tiny front yard. So I began with making a cottage front yard garden. On one side of the house I made a memory garden of my mom with roses. In the back, we have a drainage ditch across the land from each road culvert,so I dug part of it out & made a ditch garden. Gardening has become my hobby & passion,I love it. I have so much to learn & I am growing each year.
