Clematis, Jackmanii and Virgin's Bower; Elephant Garlic Seed; Hollyhocks -doubles -mostly pink with a few pale yellows mixed in; Spicewood Bush; Sweet Betsy (Carolina Allspice); Partridge Pea; Thimbleweed; Wild Sweet William (garden phlox-blue->purple); Joe-Pye; Shasta Daisy; Boneset; Black Nightshade; Datura; Scarlet Beebalm; Dolls-Eyes (White Baneberry); Chicory; Dwarf St. John's Wort; White Snakeroot; Burning Bush; Tall Blue Lettuce; Hoary Mountain Mint; Passiflora (Maypop)...
Current project: Building a little waterfall.
I grew up in NJ, but have lived in NC (Swansboro, Chapel Hill, Boone, Cherokee) over 30 years. I keep regular flower beds, but my love these days is the local flora. I grow wild flowers, bushes and vines, interspersed with kitchen and medicinal herbs, with cultivated plants for extra color.
