- "grew up in OK, had a huge garden with lots of fresh vegtables, but not many flowers. With the economy like it is I wanted to begin growing my own fresh vegtables like I remember doing when I was young. I had a very small garden, summer of 2012, and want to increase the number fresh vegtables, and want to definately add some flowers. I can't stop myself from pinching plants, that is how I got most of mine. Anyone in this area know of, or are interested in possibly creating a local plantswap in Galveston area , give me a shout via pm.
I have been married since 1982, we have 2 grown sons. Recently blessed with my first grandson, (11/2014) from my oldest son. I really enjoy being grandma. I work in IT, am IS Coordinator @ one of the top universities in the nation, but basically that title means squat (if you know what I mean), I am basically the main helpdesk supervisor @ the branch campus down here in Galveston, have been here since 1996. I began swapping plants here online @PS.net in end of 2011-first of 2012. I attended my first actual plantswap in May2012, I then became Galv. Co. chair of our local plantswap the following spring in Feb2013.
I would love to move or get more involved in teaching others all about sustainibilty, recycling resources, gardening, growing your own fruits & vegetables or getting involved in starting a community garden. Nice to meet you all.
