I have been living out here on this property for far to long. We have built our shops, but the house is still not complete. Looking into solar, we have 20,000 rainwater system, much of our structures are all of recycled windows, doors, mezzanine boards, bar joist, etc. But we still haven't dried in the house totally. We are still camping out in the office. It is a little hard on the old back but I think that this is keeping me youngISH. Where in Dripping? It is a huge area. My address is Dripping but I am in Travis county.

Well, to some. I think of it as the beginning of north texas high plains. I guess it is all a mater of perspective. I am looking up and you are looking down, I was in Cisco not far from you and it looked a bit like central Texas...It's all Texas and it still in The KUT listenership so it must be Central Texas. Welcome...it's hot so it must be Texas.

Ha! anyone have anything left growing? It sure is parched 'round these parts. Marasri, I finally had to start watering one of the succulents you gave me some time back. Dry! It's downright crispy out there.

Yikes Phoenix, wher'd you poke your head in from. Are you rising from the ashes of your back yard? I just gave up watering. Nothing but cactus is growing here. Did you get any of that rain yesterday we got 5/16th of an inch. That means 700 gallons in the water tanks.

Sitting under a sleeping baby gives me a few minutes to check in. Back and front yard is ashes for sure! We got wind and some dark clouds with brought a slight respite in temperature. We ran out and did our raindance but to no avail. We moved up near Anderson Mill since I last saw you. Can't wait for rainy season...

Oops, not a new one. The old baby you already met. She'll be 2 in October.

Miss you, lady. Hope to run into you sometime. I keep hoping another swap will happen in the fall but that's asking a lot during this drought.

It has been two years since I saw you and your little girl was playing on the playground so this must be a new one. I think you were pregnant the last I saw you. I will try to make it to the plant swap but I have killed my plants this year.

Hello bleuaugust, There are a couple of us around. I am out in the Hamilton Pool area. Blue and August don't always go together unless I am in the bottom of Barton Springs and that is more of a Blue green.

There are some local plant swaps coming up in the area this month . one off of Manchaca and one in San antonio. If you are interested PM me.

Hi! I'm from the Dallas area, and we have had bobcats and coyotes invade a lot of neighborhoods because of the building boom. I have a lot of trouble with a lot of the flowers I would love to grow because of the early heat and the "black gumbo" soil. Any suggestions for what I might try to plant? I love all kinds of heirloom flowers.

Black gumbo I do not have. I am in limestone and caliche. good luck. Maybe work on the soil and break it up with expanded shale, greensand and compost with bark mulch..I hear that decomposed granite s good to add to clay.
