I always love to see the amaryllis bloom in a pot at Christmas time, but after I put them out in the flower bed & they bloom in the spring I get soooo excited. I have them in a south flower bed where they are protected from the cold north winds by the house. I have a bunch of things planted in the south beds that are supposed to be either annuals or houseplants & they over winter just great with no extra mulch or anything.
