Thanks folks!

Unfortunately, we did end up losing a Cardboard Palm after Ike. It was uprooted and perhaps drowned/waterlogged.

Also, one of the large Queen Palms had the leaves thrashed so hard that the stems separated from the trunk almost down to the base. I've loosely tied them together a few feet off the ground and the palm is still alive and growing new leaves, but it looks just awful.

I also lost an Alexander Palm during a freeze over the winter. The Triangle Palm looked like it was dead too - all leaves turned brown/dead - but it's growing a new leaf right now, so I hope it might survive.

Just about everything else is really happy that Summer has arrived. Now I just need to keep them from getting too thirsty.

Love your beautiful garden and can see that it must of been quite a bit of work to get it looking soo good. My little piece of heaven did not come to fruition with all the rain we had this spring, but i'm over that now, getting too old for so much work, we like to do every thing our selves. I wish I could get my trops to you to save them, been struggling, plants and me, have to give up wanting them to look good. I just don't have enough light in house for them,I do or did have a Queen Palm can't remember which one succumed to not enough light or something, it just turned brown. Can't wait to see how it all fills out. Beautiful. Good job. Looking at your pics, yes it was Queen Palm that died, that was a beautiful plant.

Your backyard is gorgeous!! Looks so nice and warm, I am here where today on May 31 it is a chilly 58 degrees cant believe it!!!! But I can grow some awesome hostas!!! I will take some pics, I have some younger ones to post now, I also have jack in the pulpits etc, that sort of thing, the stuff that likes it cool moist and shady. I also have the sunny side on my 1.5 acres.

Very well done! While the plants may feel skinny now I think I would much rather plant sparsly and allow room for growth than over plant and have to break my back the year after putting in all the initial work. Enjoy!!
