Thumbs upGalveston County Plant Swap

Mary Ellen has posted the Galveston County Plant Swap in the calendar. Please click the link in the calendar if you will be attending to let everyone know (you can edit your list of 'haves' and 'wants' in your profile first).

This thread is available for asking questions or discussing the event.

Sunny, I noticed you posted your have & want lists in your profile. If you "unregister" from the GCPS in the event calendar and then "re-register", the system will display your lists on the calendar.

BTW, I have a rubber tree for you.

Congrats to Mary Ellen, Sunny/Margie and all the other organizers for a great swap! It sure was good to see a bunch of folks I had not seen a few years.

For those who could not make it, I've posted some photos that my wife took:

That's me holding the young man in the orange shirt. It was busy when we arrived and there was hardly any table space left (note to self - arrive early next Spring). Good thing I didn't bring too many plants!

I was fortunate to snag some seeds for that beautiful purple/white double flowered brug you can see in the jar on the table.

Wave Hello!

There was a section outside the pavilion for plants that were free for the taking. There were more plants out there to the right which didn't fit in this picture.

I'm guessing that there were around 50 people there, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that there were more. There was also a ton of food with someone cooking BBQ on a smoker outside the pavilion. Unfortunately, my son started getting fussy and needing a nap around lunch time, so we had to leave early.

Now, as always, my challenge is to figure out where to spot my new babies.
