Rain garden update

When I get the pix issues worked out, they will be posted. So just now, I'll write what has been happening.

The first stage is done. There are wood chips, rocks and all mannerof good herbs and native plants shoved into the space. All I need to do now is add a few more plants and try to find some free wood chips as my supply up the block has been carted away. Sigh. There is still some good compost, but I 'm all pooped out by the end of the day.

About half of the bulbs I planted in surrounding areas are comoing up. I didn't expect any blooms this year, but I have been pleasantly surprised. I have been watering daily as rain has been significantly lacking up here.

Half of the retaining wall is in. I ache.

Tuberous Begonia. Tha'ts what it's called. They came up like gangbusters adn now are blooming. I guess the bazillion gallons of water, Miracle Grow and a big steaming pile of mulch has done it. Teh Glads are well on thier way, but there will be no blooms this year. Teh asiatics went nuts and grew nearly 4 feet tall and have produced 8 buds per plant, I think there are more. All of the days, tigers and star gazers produced massively tall stalks and huge blossoms.

I am a lucky girl.

It sounds like all of your hard work is paying off beautifully.
I'm looking forward to pics, too.
