Photos from around the yard today

It's pretty cloudy and wet outside so I took a walk around with the camera today. Thought I'd share some photos.

Christina your pictures are so lovely. The pond and gardens and walkways are outstanding. It seems like you have made a little piece of paradise for our family. Your place is awesome just beautiful can I come and sit in your yard for a spell?

Looks like a little bit of heaven to me! So peaceful and balanced.

Hey girl your baby apricots are doing great, I found spots for all of them My yard is looking like a jungle at present. Weed eater died last fall, getting a new one this weekend and with all the rain we've had, well I've got my work cut out for me when the sun decides to stay out awhile~

I love everything. I'd wish for a big yard/garden like that. Probably would end up having a botanical garden... cramming all kinds of plants in it!
Yours looks really nice!

Wow .. like Fearadyn said, a nice peaceful place! I think I see a gold fish in the pond picture .. what water plants are you growing in there?

thanks everyone

Swamplady... you can come sit around anytime.. you'll just need bug spray with all this rain this week the mosquitoes are about the size of birds.

Calin... I probably will end up with a botanical garden like yard.. I can't help myself when it comes to plants I see that I like. I want to grow it all. I just have to keep making room for them in the landscape.

Xeolyte... yes I have ten goldfish. I got them from a couple on craigslist who were taking down their pond. I have water celery (Oenanthe japonica 'Flamingo)
Arrowhead (Peltandra virginica) and some kind of water lily.. I suspect it's Texas Dawn or James Brydon based on the leaf color.. but they are pretty small still. I also threw in some creeping jenny that seems to grow well in the water. I had thrown some in a bucket when I was first taking out the pond and forgot about it. By the time I went back to the bucket at least a month later it had filled halfway with water and the creeping jenny had more than doubled in size. Unfortunately the goldfish have decided they prefer the creeping jenny to their fish food so what they can reach has been eaten.
I'm still looking to get some water lettuce and some frog bit or so other floating plants good for a shady pond.

my daughter loved that purple jeep too... now my neice gets to enjoy it when she comes over. I guess I have a few more years before I can get rid of the playground and baby toys.. then I'll plant even more things there..

These are skinks!

Who knew? I have at least two families of skinks in my yard. These I call the back yard skinks. I have front yard skinks but because it's so sunny they are usually hiding under leaves and rocks and just skitter around to frighten me as I walk by. I've seen at least 5 juvenile skinks but haven't gotten a picture of any of them yet. They are very colorful blue/purple/yellow but much smaller.

what a beautiful yard you have! I love the Rhododendron and the cute planter-bike and how romantic, white picket fence and red roses
I am looking forward to more pictures throughout the year
