The most cold hardy palm is Rhiphidophyllum histrix (Needle Palm) which barely gets a trunk and remains shrub like. Look that one up on Google using the botanical name. I have some recommended colder hardy palms listed at www.southeasttexasgardening.info/treercmd.htm but doubt any of these other than the Needle palm could survive a winter outdoors in Zone 6a. Put "cold hardy palms" into Google and I think you will find a lot of useful info. A link to one such site is on the web page above. Hope this helps you.

Where does everyone find those

cool looking, moving Avatars? I use pic's, but nothing spectacular. I would love to change mine. But I don't know where to look. Any advice? Please send me a pm to, as I tend to forget to look everywhere on here for where I put some of my posts.

Thanks,
Deb

Palms In the commonwealth

If you are still interested in palms that can weather it out in KY check out Brians Botanicals in Louisville. Do a google search for brians botanicals.
