wierdo alert

i recently got an email on freaking YOUTUBE from my mom's ex boyfriend FROM THE 70's.... he was trying to get in touch with her & see how she is doing... and his email sounded really creepy. the first line was "i am not a stalker".... .... he said he did a people search thing online for her & i guess my name & contact info came up... so he contacted me via youtube (????how that happened, i don't know????)... i emailed the people search place (from a fake email address) & told them to remove my info from their website immediately, cause i don't like the idea that every tom, dick & harry can just put my name in a search engine & look me up. if weird crap like this continues to happen, i'll change my name. thankfully he doesn't have my current email or phone number as i change them often.

i'm just creeped out... i told my mom (of course)... and she was weirded out, too & told me not to respond to the guy.. she was also offended that he'd even try to contact her... and even moreso through me. what an idiot. lol

anything like that happen to you folks? i seem to be a weirdo magnet. lol

I just get eight million illiterate "fans" on myspace. Not so cute. "Baby your so bootiful." I never reply, and yet they keepa' comin'; I even get messages from teenage boys, who get really upset that I don't reply, and start calling me names or calling me rude, beachy, (haha) or snotty. One time I did reply to one of those... I asked him how he could type but couldn't read the "married" part on the bottom, or the "age" part where it says I am almost 3 times his age. He said sorry after that. LOL.

ROFL Suddenly spring, I used to get those on myspace too. My main use for using myspace is to keep in contact with family that live in other states and friends I don't get to see nearly as often as I'd like. It's listed under my and my husbands name. lol Anywho, when I first signed up for myspace I got those messages everyday. I think what the younger folks do on there is see how many friends they can accumulate on their friends lists. They don't even care if they know you. lol

Onyx, I wouldn't respond to that guy, there's no telling if he's genuine or a raging lunatic. Best to be on guard if you don't know them. Heck anymore it's best to be on guard if you do know them, sometimes we don't know people as well as we think we do.

my 2 cents.

ooo, that is creepy .... you handled it well.

I had some guy just show up at my house this past Summer.... he found my website, then looked up my name on an online yellow pages or something and actually got my address..... I didn't know you could do that...
next thing I know, he's here to say hi and meet me....
I was home alone, and outside with my horses....I stayed in the paddock and didn't offer for him to come in and stood by Ella....
I think he got the idea and finally said "nice to meet you" and left...haven't seen or heard from him again..... That was weird.

i hate myspace. lol i made mine private & don't have any of my pictures on there.. just random artwork that i like & pictures of transvestites. (people who know me laugh about that) i also don't use myspace much. i don't think i've even logged in there in over 2 months... lol

the guy knew my mom & dated her back in the 70's.. i just thought it was creepy that he'd even try to contact me to get ahold of my mom. i told him that i didn't know who she was & my last name isn't even what he found me under.. (which is not entirely untrue... my last name in a different country is not what it is here in the states lol...)

also, if he dated my mom, he should know that she doesn't like the idea of keeping in touch with old boyfriends. neither do i... if you're my ex, you're my EX... there's no reason for me to talk to you anymore. get out of my life & stay out! end of story! that's how my mom is, too. so the fact that he's even trying to contact her at all is just stupid on his part... especially after 30+ years! what kinda dope is he on?... seriously!

yeah.. i would never post my address/phone/email publicly. no way! i'm not an idiot! --- this guy just used that ussearch & peoplesearch thing to find my mom's info, but ended up finding me instead. i emailed those websites & demanded that my info be removed "or else"... lol

yeah... the least he could have done if he wanted to meet you is call & make an appointment, WHEN YOUR HUSBAND WOULD BE HOME!!!!!!!!! if he can go through all that effort trying to find your info, the least he could do is freakin' call you & ask if he can come over, not just show up & be like "HERE I AM OLD FRIEND!!"

i really don't get what is wrong with people. just because i have your address, does not mean that i've got the right to invite myself over to your house & be like "hi what's up homie g-whizzle?" - that's just creepy!!

OMG that is so creepy Natalie. I would've been scared outta my mind, sounds like a stalker you know?! Glad nothing truly bad happened. And Kathy, I have a myspace for the same reason. All my 7 brothers and sisters have them, and we all keep in touch and send each other stuff just to be funny. Also old friends too...
I would hate to keep mine private just because I do make friends with some nice people actually. People that are garden freaks just like me. But I look through their whole profile first and read stuff. I think the teenagers do love to have 1,000 friends!!! That's sad that they have time to do that, yet they can't spell or use proper grammar. I know a few of those. Some of my hubby's counsin's friends have friends that are really illiterate and hold no common sense.
I added one of their friends once and instantly regretted it following the millions of bulletins posted by this girl about how it feels to not have a guy "Call" her.

Girls stay SAFE! This is a different world from the one we grew up in and you just do not know anymore. Natalie that scared me just reading about that guy, thank goodness nothing happened.
