what kinda games do you folks play?

i know we have the game section on the forum but i was wondering if you folks play games with your families in real life?

my family likes to play games together. we really enjoy playing balderdash & we play card games like hand & foot.. and we are learning how to play a card game called killer bunnies, which looks like a lot of fun. we also like to play pictionary & games like that. there's 5 of us (my uncle, grandma, mom, dad & myself) & we get together every sunday & play games from about 5 pm to 10 pm. it's a blast especially playing balderdash (some of the answers are just so funny!) and we love playing hand & foot. my grandma usually wipes the floor with everyone on that game. lol

the killer bunnies:

aren't they cute?? lol

i recently ordered some "flower cards" from Japan & thought it would be fun to learn how to play hanafuda & "go-stop" (korean version of hanafuda).. so if anyone else is interested in that, here's a website that shows you different kinda games you can play using those cards:

http://hanafubuki.org/

here's what they look like (pretty, huh? )

you can buy those cards here: http://www.japanese-games-shop.com/ << that place has different versions & tells you which one is which & they also have different games. you can also find some inexpensive decks on ebay. i got the vinyl ones, cause i figured those would last longer. but they have some very nice sets!

Those look interesting....look appealing to kids with all those colors.

We play games a lot with our kids. We play Balderdash too...real fun (I am the unbeaten queen of that game for literally 12 years, no matter who we play it against ... lol .... and I don't back down easily! )

We also play the lord of the rings version of Trivial Pursuit, Uno, Monopoly (otherwise known as Divorce in a Box around here....) ummmm...some little kid games, and every now and then charades, because it's fun to make someone act like something out of their character. Oh, and the kids like Clue, so we play that with them a lot too.

yep! they are very bold, for sure! lol and yep, they would be cool for memory games.. i learned that hanafuda cards have scenes that depict the different months of the year & the game is to try to match them up & certain cards are worth more than others. the yakuza (japanese mafia) play hanafuda & kabufuda.. LOL but there's a bunch of games you can play using them.. that's one of the main reasons i got them, cause you can play a whole bunch of different games with them, just like you would with regular cards.. we have poker, blackjack, hand & foot, gin, etc.. i love cards!!!!

LOL awww! you poor thing! (but it is funny the way you describe it )

my other side of the family is sorta like that.. but they like to play a lot of chess & games like risk & trivia games or games where you have to think a lot about something.. they take it so seriously.. and, of course, i always loose those. cause they're all braniacs. lol i have the attention span of a gnat. but it's still fun. playing pictionary with them is fun.
