What is everyone making or eating for Thanksgiving?

I thought that with Thanksgiving just around the corner this would be a good subject and everyone can see into everybody elses maybe traditions on Thansgiving.

My family all comes to my house. Sometimes we have turkey ,but with Christmas right around the corner we are all sick of turkey. Because we eat a lot of left overs with the dern bird

This year we decided to go a different route. We are making Beer Butt Chicken. It is a great way to make a chicken keeps the meat tender and very moist. You don't have to use beer, besides it is themoisture in the can evaporating that keeps the bird moist. So any kind of beverage that comes in a can can be used. Anyhow we I will be making 3-4 of those as wha you don't eat throw straight into the freezer for days when you just don't feel like cooking.
We will have the traditional mashed potatoes, some sort of green vegtable or two, sweet potatoes candied of course, or maybe candied carrots! Pies Pies Pies, pumkin, pecan and something else. My mom contributes the pies well at least the pumpkin. We love the pecan pie delicious!!!!!!
That is what my family will be having.

What is your family having?????

TalkingYa gotta eat!

We usually go to 2 different Thanksgiving dinners. Saturday we are going to celebrate with my SIL, it's at a park and HUGE. I'll just say that a little of everything is served there.

My mom and dads house- We have my dads glazed ham, the best Ham in the universe! My mom makes potato salad, cornbread dressing, broccoli casserole, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, corn, homemade macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, coleslaw, Cheesecake, chocolate cake, peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies, dump cake and pecan pie. And whatever I bring, I haven't decided yet what I want to take this year. It's usually something I find in a magazine or on the net and want to try and we taste test it. No doubt, this year will probably be something by Paula Dean. No one has to eat the same thing twice in one day and everyone takes home a plate.

Kathy I'm looking for a good cornbread dressing! We are having the meal here and are inviting some friends and my SIL and her hubby who's from Texas and loves cornbread stuffing. Been checking for recipes and did find some but I'm always up for ideas. Besides turkey we'll have corn pudding, mashed potatoes, a cranberry jello recipe that I found last year that's delicious, possibly sweet potatoe casserole with pecans and stuffing. SIL is making pies (thank goodness!) and not sure yet what friends are bringing.

I'm cooking for my mama and her hubby and her youngest brother, and of course my crew. I will be marinating 2 turkey breast, having a small sprial cut ham, potato salad, green beans, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, glazed carrots, deviled eggs, bread, pumpkin pie, chocolate cake and brownies, and whatever else deserts I decide to do!

Mandy, I'll ask her for the recipe. It's pretty much all from scratch and she's perfected it to her own style. I'm really hoping it's not one of those measure by eye recipes. LOL That way I can pass it along.

Thanks, I'd appreciate it. He's a wonderful BIL and he's a LONG way from home so anything to make the holiday a little more special for him would be appreciated.

Everyone is making me very hungery!!!!! What time is dinner

I use to make cornbread dressing but no one at my house eats it but me so is useless for me to make it anymore.

I really love Thanksgiving. It is a great time of family gatherings and catching up with people that you haven't been able to get to really visit with during the year.

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving
