WinkTook my grandfather shopping

All went well and I called and checked on him and things are fine, in fact I asked for his advice on my weeds all over my veggie garden so I will be picking him up again tomorrow weather permitting. He is the expert will be 99 in a month! He is where I got the gardening bug from, and I'm gonna tell him too!

Hey MR

He is about the last left in my family and I love him to death, he is very wise! Military man and he loves to talk to anyone, I was half embarresed at walmart cause he yaps to anyone, he has always been like that! I can't blame him though he called me and said he hates it at the retirement home! I never want to live somewhere like that! I want to be planted here in the yard!

Angie you are so blessed to have him. And he is blessed to have you. I knew a lovely lady who was in a nursing home. She told me they took wonderful care of her, the food was very good and she had a lovely room but she felt like a prisoner. I am sure your grandfather treasures the time you spend with him. I hope the weather is good and you two get to laugh and play in the garden tomorrow. Enjoy!

How wonderful that you are helping him feel needed.
I worked in a nursing home for awhile and a lot of the residents felt like they weren't needed anymore.
Soak up his knowledge. And tell him you need him.
You're a good grandaughter.

U are so right GT my grandparents have been gone a long long time & I wish I could see them again for just 1 day I would treat them like kings & queens.

I have promised my mom that if the time comes I will just lock the gates and let her putter around in her yard all day, making sure she is supplied with soil and plants

frugal gal I worked in a home for a while as well. Sadly far to many people there were just forgotten. Some never had visitors at all. It broke my heart. The world needs more people like Angie.

You all are to nice and I'm not! Its ashame how we tend to get TO BUSY! Lets take time and think how we'd feel locked up and No phone calls or visits like everyone forgot us or just doesn't care! I just recently am going to try and make more of an effort, and yes I work alot and do other stuff, but lets take a minute and think, what IS REALLY IMPORTANT, FAMILY, or our little busy lives? Like frugal gal said someone said they felt like know one cared, think about that for a minute, I know I'm getting older and I don't want that? DO YOU??????

THERE IS NO BETTER WAY TO ENTER THE PEARLY GATES THAN DOING JUST THAT......I JUST FINISHED THAT CHORE WHEN MY OLDEST SISTER DIED ON APRIL 1.........IT WAS NO APRIL FOOL JOKE HERE.

SHE WAS IN A HOME AN FAMILY WAS NOT VISITING HER .. HOWEVER SHE WAS WHEELCHAIR BOUND AND NO ONE WANTED TO VISIT HER.
WIDOW NO KIDS..........I WENT WEEKLY AND TOOK HER AN HER ROOM MATE SODA AND GOODIES TO EAT........WHICH CHEERED THEM BOTH.

GUESS WHAT, THEY BOTH DIED SAME WEEK.

END OF JANUARY MY HUSBAND FOUND HIS BROTHER DEAD ON THE LIVING ROOM FLOOR........0 WEATHER......

SO WE DO KNOW WHAT ANGIE IS SPEAKING OF .........PLEASE HELP......
I GOT NO PAYMENTS FOR MY KINDNESS, BUT KNOW GOD IS LOOKING AFTER ME .........NOW AN IN THE END..
