Thanks for the kind words Gram. I really took my time building this site to make it special. It's still pretty new though, so it's not as busy as more established forums. Stick around though. I imagine this place is going to get pretty busy when Spring hits and people start thinking about plant swaps again. |

| I have to agree with Gram. We have 67 registered members on the forum but hardly any postings. This is disappointing. I hope other forum members will become more active in sharing their gardening interests with us. This forum not only covers organized plant swaps and individual plant swapping, it covers horticultural and gardening topics of general interest. I think the Forum name is misleading in this regard. I'd like to see more emphasis on Q&A's among participants on any plant or horticultural topic and more general sharing of gardening experiences, e.g. favorite plants, new techniques learned that others can benefit from, etc. SO COME ON EVERYONE - JUMP IN!! |

It does seem a shame that if there are that many members, why their not interested enough to keep the site going and at least check in each day to see what is or isn`t going on!! I`m pretty busy with the holiday season, but gee if you`re a member aren`t you interested in what your fellow-member is up to? Or hey is it just me and I`m NOSY!! hahahhahaha ![]() |

Well hey then we need to do some campaigning! OR we could all start yelling real loud into our mikes, "hey come on and get on the site and do some chatting. How are we going to know what you like to grow and if we can grow it better if you don`t perticipate!!" Well anyway it`s a thought. Hello out there, come on give us a try.![]() |

| I think everyone is pretty busy with the holidays coming up so fast so it doesn't surprise me that postings are low at this time of year. I personally hope this site will be educational and informational about horticulture and plants but in the dead of winter, it is hard to find things to talk about. Perhaps it would be a great time to talk about and post pictures of our favorite plants so everyone can start dreaming about spring and get some ideas about what to plant in the garden in 2007. I use this gardening down time to study and do research about plants and horticultural things. That being said, it was 72 degrees today in Austin and we are expecting highs like that all week, so it feels more like spring now, but that's just a little reprieve from winter. The lowest we have gone here in NW Austin this year so far is 24 degrees. I am studying the relative hardiness and resistance to subfreezing of many plants in my garden in hopes of coming up with a combination of garden plants that will provide some color and interest in winter as well as summer. My Agaves, Cycads, Yuccas, and even Dyckia bromeliads are taking it well so far and even my citrus has only suffered minor leaf burning. This is my first complete winter in Austin so it will be a gardening learning experience. |

| Feeling a little bit better today thanks - some sort of stomach virus. It sure did feel like Spring today here in Houston. My Pecan trees have not gone fully dormant yet. I'm guessing they won't be producing too many nuts next year. |

This weather we`ve been having is really playing havoc with my gardens. Since it was in the high 50`s and low 60`s all last week and weekend, my candytufts, [which should be sleeping] became confused and bloomed!!! In December?????? ~~~~~~~~~I tried to post a picture of them but it wouldn`t let me put it here. |

| You can upload images to the gallery or attach them to forum posts as long as they are not too big. |
