Wow, thank you so much for posting this, Cricket!

It's a much needed post on this site and many others. I sure appreciate your input. We need to have more tolerance for other people...and more kindness.

Just because people are different than us or may not do things the same way we do...doesn't give people the right to be rude or hurtful. Thinking before you speak (post) and considering other people's feelings, is a polite and respectful thing to do.

Do onto others as you would have them do onto you...something I learned in kindergarten and kept with me my whole entire life.

Thank you again for this thread.

Awesome job cricket, thank you. Now if we could just come up with a way for those who get offended so easily by simple questions and ordinary statements that they have read some deep hurtful meaning into. Too many theses days are just looking for "reasons" to get their noses out of joint with the great huff of "I'm offended".

While remembering the golden rule is always a good thing, it seems to be even more powerful to remember "judge not least ye be judged of the same accord" before it so we can keep it in better perspective.

In this community members are expected to treat each other with respect at all times.

There will always be disagreements and fusses between members. It is simply human nature. We truly encourage members to discuss and openly share their thoughts on a topic. It is how we all learn and life would be pretty boring if we all felt the same way.

That being said, this is not grade school. We don’t gang up in little groups to take sides or encourage others to do the same.

If you were at a local get together and got into a disagreement with someone, I am guessing you would take it outside instead of ruining the party for everyone. I expect the same here.

If you are not able to discuss a topic respectfully then you need to remove yourself from the topic. If you are unable to discuss a topic with a specific member then you need to choose to ignore that member or take the discussion off the boards. If you are unable to do either of these things, I will help you to do so.

Forgive me for bumping this again but I need to clarify that we also expect our members to treat each other with respect in private messages as well as within the community.
