Oh my aching backI filled 7 construction style garbage bags full of weeds and clippings from the beds in my back yard. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to walk tomorrow. It was a beautiful Spring day here. Lots of plants waking up from winter dormancy. I'm strongly tempted to put the potted Haas avacado tree that survived the winter on my back patio in the ground right now, but I don't have clue where I could put it. My yard has reached its tree saturation point I think. |

Well I`m glad someone is able to dig in the dirt, cause I sure can`t. We got a foot of snow with this last storm!! Everything is under the snow again!! All I want to do is get some dirty fingernails!! Already repotted as many houseplants as I can! |

| Hi Gram, Got two new Sedums at the nursery yesterday, one S. x rubrotinctum (aka Jelly Bean Sedum), and a ground crawling variegated one with small rounded leaves - no ID. Getting quite a few different varieties now and find them fascinating, tough little plants. Now about the weather, isn't it cruel, esp in the northeast. I almost feel guilty to say that my garden for this year has already been planted. We have had spring weather since March 1st, no lows below 50 and excellent growing conditions. Even got badly needed rain in addition to above average temperatures. Hang in there - spring is coming - I promise!! |

| Gram18 If you're itching to garden indoors, try the aerogarden or ParkSeed's Bio Dome Seedstarter. It helps get stuff going while the NE defrosts from old man winter's grip... The aerogarden is an easy aeroponic system (water and nutrient tab). It's only drawback was the limited pre-set seed pod but they just came out with a Master Gardener Kit that allows you to plant your own seeds. The Bio Dome from ParkSeed is much cheaper system. You do have to provide the fertilzer and light source. But you can plant whatever seeds you like and transplant the plant plug and all when it warms up outside. I have both. I use the Bio Dome to get seeds started and the aerogarden for my kitchen herbs and salads. That's how I get through the winter in NY.
