music?

what kinda music do you folks enjoy listening to?

i like pretty much everything. jazz, polka, cyber goth electronica, egyptian pop, classical trance crossovers, 80's russian rock, viking & folk metal, opera, etc.. and lotsa stuff that most people have never even heard of. lol

specific musicians (some of the ones that are easier on the ears):

elec cookie - those girls are so talented!, gregorian - masters of chant! i love 'em!, kim sa rang - i am so in love with this guy. lol *swoons*, bird thongchai & sek loso - bird thongchai is the one with the ponytail thing (can't tell he's 40 something, can you?! lol) and the guy playing guitar is obviously sek loso - very good guitarist. and this last one sounds kinda strange, because it's for karaoke. lol so the melody is played a little louder than normal. sorry!

your turn!!!

I stayed in Cairo for a couple of months, and I was well over Egyptian pop at the end of it. Give me guitars and drums. System of a down, pantera, slipknot are the US bands I like, then I also like traditional South African music, reggae and jazz. Opera when I'm driving. I suppose anything except egyptian pop! But then I'm not too sure about polka, cyber goth electronica, classical trance crossovers, 80's russian rock and viking neither

I like a bit of different stuff, but like soft rock the best.
I also listen to a lot of classic rock. I tend to like bands like matchbox20 and singers like celine dion .... don't know too many new singers, don't stay with the times I guess....I like older bands like Styx, Journey, and things like that.

I like Country the most. I do listen to some classic rock or pop, like some of the 80's stuff. I am with uni tho, if I listen to older stuff it is Rock. I especially loved that cassette of Van Halen - For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. Journey, Air Supply, HOOO HUMMMM so many and I am showing my age

I listen to just about everything, except country. I don't seek out anything other than alternative though. weird bands like old Weezer. I like some soft stuff like Sarah mcGloughlin. I killed her name, sorry. Pantera, Slipknot, and a lot of new stuff like Red and Santogold, MIA, Benny Benassi, Crystal Castles. Cold, Staind, and Tool too. And I was in a gangster rap phase this summer. It was kinda funny. I start getting tired of the same rap though. Always with the hot chicks and other things. Me and my hubby's young cousin were listening to Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, and 50 cent the other day. I'll even listen to the Jonas brothers, I really don't mind anything in moderation....

nothing wrong with "old stuff" i listen to enka for crying out loud. (enka is a style of traditional japanese music that is really, really old. lol) i also like johnny cash, elvis presley, grace wilson, patsy cline, queen, the beatles, the who, black sabbath, etc. lol love david bowie, dead or alive, sisters of mercy, toto, poison, winger, motley crue, human league, billy idol, etc.. lol also like naomi chiaki, keiko fuji (utada hikaru's mom), momoe yamaguchi, meiko kaji (she was on the kill bill soundtrack), etc.

good music is good music!

if you guys don't mind vulgarity & wanna hear something hilarious, notorious msg.. the chinese rap group (it's a gimmick, they're not really like that) here's another video of theirs.. lol -- just beware the language. it can get pretty foul.

old rock is still good for me too. Old Japanese music sounds very interesting. My parents used to make us listen to all kinds of older classical music from around the world. One of my fave times of the day. My father is much better at recalling names than I am unfortunetely.
The eagles rock, so do Led Zep, the stones, etc. I listen to a different radio station every time I turn it on. My hubby likes this weird old band called Uriah Heap, and it embarrasses me hahaha. Well, one time I made him turn it down when he was dropping me off in front of the theatre. It was like a very 70's guitar solo, then it would stop and the band went "HOO HAA!" really loud--repeat ad infinitum. OMG. haha! I think that evanescence sounds like a female version of meatloaf, but I still saw them in concert.
I went to a jazz festival at the broadmore this year, and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
