I'd leave the eggs alone and stay away from the nest...I need to practice what I preach. I have a robins nest underneath my deck and I looked in it the other day and found two - three babies in it. The parents are only on the nest near dusk. I haven't seen them in the morning or during the day.
I haven't looked inside the nest since. I'm afraid that if I get too close or look in the nest too often the parents won't come back. I'm hoping to see the little ones in a few days.

I was not as excited about the nest the other birds are trying to build in my grill.

I guess you may have to buy a second grill snowmm . heehee

I have never seen the momma bird. I am wondering if something happened to her. I find it odd that she put them in a basket that hangs right by our front door. If she is ever there I am sure we spook her before we even know of her presence.

If I take the bad egg out, won't she know someone has messed with it and not come back?

So nasty! I don't know how long those little worms were in there, but I just saw them today. Hadn't checked on the nest in a while. When I went out to remove the wormy egg, they had already moved on to the other eggs as well. It was just disgusting! I guess momma bird abandoned or got killed 'cause no mom would stand for that! yuck! I carefully checked my plant to make sure it was ok and didn't have any of those in the pot.

Thanks for your help everyone!

If you get another nest in your plant you can get one of those water vases that are blowen glass and put it on the other side of the plant.Good Luck.
