ice storm June 24,2009

Yesterday was 101 and humid, in seconds about 1pm got dark and very windy with lighting and for about 1 hour from 1pm to 2pm we had heavy rain, then ice storm came, temp drop to 75
had to move all my potted plants to garage (saved them all) others in the ground got little bit up (so did I), the ice melted soon, but damage is done,
few minutes after 2pm sun came up, got back to 95 like nothing ever happened.

Did anybody experience something like that ?

Unbelievable! Thank goodness you were able to save your potted plants. I think a week or two ago NJ actually got a couple inches of hail. They showed people shovelling in their shorts. Strange weather.

That is strange...but I have heard that you would not be able to tell the different seasons...and looks like it is about that way! Thanks for sharing!

Saba I am gald that you were able to save your potted plants sorry about the others.

Had the exact same happen to me last year 2x in May I think. It tore up my Brug that was covered in blooms! I lost all the blooms. IT was horrible so I know what you went through. Ruined all my little pot ornaments tore 'em up and they had to be thrown away.

Saba, that has happened here before. It can be scary. It is about that time our town sounds the tornado warning siren .

Thank you all for kind words,

at first I didn't know if to cry or laugh, yes g_t, hailstorm in the end of July, really weird and unbelievable and it was a total surprise for me,

now I know how you felt when it happened to you m_r, but thankfully after I cleaned all the mess, my damage wasn't that bad,

however, some of my brugs I started from seeds don't look good, will post pictures later, don't know if it's ice damage or they are cooked,
havy rain, hail and 100+ is not healthy mixture.

We got the hail here yesterday around 7:00 pm. Only lasted about ten minutes and then it was gone. It is strange to see that when the temps are so warm. Glad we didn't have damage. Although we did have some high winds that brought some large tree limbs down.

But no one was injured, thankfully!
