Angie. I did a few things wintersow..and I checked them the other day and they are cracking through the ground.... Amazing! I only did a couple of things due to health! But they are doing well as far as I can tell..Good luck, and blessings!

I am going to start my basil this weekend, last year was the first year that i really tried things indoors and i think i started too early, so this year i am going to wait until around the end of February or so.

This is my first year trying to wintersow. I have about 25 pots/seeds done and about 50 more to go. I haven't had to heart to put them outside yet. The wind here has been out of control lately. Not to mention the rain.

I have been experimenting with different soils and containers. TP rolls, newspaper pots, 2 liters, milk jugs and pots. I am trying Miracle Grow potting mix, and moisture control, cheapo mix and treated with boiling water backyard dirt. I'm still a little confused what "average soil" is. I'm thinking nothing that is too high in nutrients? Some seeds say plant in average soil and others say fine soil so I'm still learning what that is.

I'm still figure out a way to keep them all properly labeled. Maybe nail polish will work. Put one dot on this pot, 2 on this pot, etc. And keep a log in the house of what's what.

I'm thinking of setting them out either the end of this month or beginning of next. This is going to be fun seeing how all our seedlings do!
