Oh, I'm glad this thread popped up again, I've enjoyed having another look at some of the wonderful pieces that I saw before,
and Martha - all I can say is WOW !! Your re-styled jewelry pieces are stunning!
I've seen some Christmas trees made in a similar way, but your creations are so much more intricate and artful. I do hope that you find the time to get back to your work.
I understand what you are saying about the way prices have gone up on pre-owned jewelry, but you might have some luck at some of your local thrift stores if you express your interest in acquiring pieces which are in poor condition.
My friend worked at a local charity thrift/re-sale store here, and she told me that it was shocking how much of the donated costume jewelry was just tossed into the trash because it was broken too badly to wear.
Just an idea.

Thanks again to each of you for sharing your lovelies.

Thanks, ZuZu...I have bought from thrift shops...even asked if they ever saved their broken items. Sometimes they save it, but usually they give it to friends for crafting, or they sell it, often at outrageous prices. Occasionally I get lucky with finding one that is reasonable. The problem now is not supplies, I have lots of those. The problem is time, energy and inspiration!
