If you're on Facebook, there are several AV groups there - one for the sale of AVs, one for newbies, one for trailers, several for AVs in general. There are also several sites on the internet dedicated to AVs. Personally, I have several hundred named plants.

I have trailing avs, episcia, alsobia and goldfish plant for trade if anyone is interested. All gesneriads family. One of my episcias has pink and grey leaves. Just ordered seven new gesneriads so I'm a bit obsessed.

I will do that today but its not blooming. It has some buds about a week away from blooming, I'd estimate.

Are any of your familiar with Achimeines? They are really beautiful & look very much like AV blooms. I usually plant mine in hanging baskets.I will have some rhizomes for trade toward the end of Oct. Anyone want to trade for some AV starts? Here is a link that shows some great pics of Achimeines

Do you have a variety of colors or is this the only one? I do have unrooted african violet leaves I would be interested in trading.

AV's & Achimenes

What color are your achimenes? Do they grow well as a house plant during the winter? Or do you store the bulbs over the winter and plant them outdoors during the summer?

Is everyone familiar with houzz/gardenweb forum? There is a wonderful violet/gesneriad section along with every other gardening forum you can think of. Great info and conversation!!!~~~Rosie

They're usually dormant during the winter.
