Question

Isn't the price of all that stuff, quite costly for tomatoes indoors?
Not common stuff in our area.

My windows don't give enough light, I'm sure! My east facing windows have a front porch to contend with. Can I do this with a grow light?

TalkingA picture says a thousand word!

They just started to ripen for me a couple days ago!

Mcole66...

Your fluorescent light system will be enough to begin some tomato plants from seed, but that kind of light is not sufficient to sustain a mature tomato plant, unfortunately. You'd need an HID (high intensity discharge lamp) system.

A bright & sunny window sill will do the trick as well.

This is amazing!
Beautiful pictures.

I would love to grow my own tomato plant indoors. I have been searching online for a few days on how to grow a tomato indoors and I think I really want to do it. I dont have much of a green thumb and I'm afraid I'll mess it up. Yes that's right I have only managed to grow a few house plants and sometimes even that doesn't quite work out....

Hollyberry lady what kind of advice would you give a beginner, who would like to try their hand at this?
Im going to do some more reading up on this but any advice would be great. Thanks so much.
