goodby gnatshere is what I love to use, and natural ammonia in drains,, or bleach keeps them out of there too, they seem to love watery areas,, thats why plants and soils,, There are other home remedies that have met with success, but most of them use vinegar, and work pretty much like the vinegar trap above. Mixing a half cup of vinegar and a tablespoon of Dawn dish detergent attracts the gnats. They will feed on the mixture and die. Apple cider vinegar and baking soda works also. Be careful with this one. Vinegar and baking soda react and foam up, so make your mixture slowly. A cup of ammonia poured down the kitchen sink can also encourage the little pests to go elsewhere, good luck and hope this helps, I also like to use the pest strips,, non toxic and hang in the rooms, after a few days,, no gnats,, think all work together,, no matter who we are and how clean they seem to infest us, at certain years, or times,, Blessings, Beth ![]() |

| Gnats are attracted to fungus, which often grows on moist soil. To get rid of the gnats you must get rid of the fungus....you may try sprinkiling Cinnamon (a natural fungicide) onto the soil surface. Here's another remedy I recently learned...mix a tiny amount of 3% hydrogen Peroxide (appx. 1/8 tsp ) in a quart of water and thoroughly water your plants with it until it runs out of the drain holes. It should destroy the fungus/gnat eggs, and its healthy for your plants (allows more air to the roots). |
