Cycas - HouseplantHello everyone I have a new Cycas potplant that I intend keeping in the house. But I do not really know how to care for it. WHat, how much and when do I need to feed it? What position in a house would be best (I know they are supposed to be in full sun when outdoors.) Can anyone help? ![]() Thanks |

| Cycas grows best in sandy, well-drained soil, preferably with some organic matter. Their main requirement is perfect drainage, as they will develop root rot if water remains stagnant in the soil. They need bright light when grown indoors. Always keep pots oriented in the same direction facing north to prevent the leaves from spiralling and twisting out of plane. All parts of cycads are poisonous, especially the seeds. Keep plants out of the reach of children and pets. ----------------- Richa Last edited by jdkline; 09-17-2008 at 08:29 AM. Reason: spam |

oohh my....Thats very god information to know!! Maybe that is something we should consider doing in the future. Adding a little note to say it is poisonous!!! I know I dont think about that because I dont usually have little ones running around my house. When my grand kids are here they are watched very closely. |
