I think I need to try this! Are you all using watered down coffee, like half coffee and half water? I wonder what is is in the coffee that the plants like?

Coffee provides nitrogen, which encourages foliage growth... I personally am diluting my coffee with water, probably about half coffee half water and letting it sit out until its room temperature. My plants are going bananas!! lol

I'm going to try this too - that is if I can get my husband to not dump out the end of the pot everyday . . . .

My one and only african violet which I can keep alive, but never does very well, sprang back to life and is now going to bloom, I have had it for years and I think this is only like the second time ever that it has bloomed!!

I continue to be super impressed

yay so awesome!!! so happy to hear all of your results!!
i gave a tiny, tiny bit to my ric rac cactus cuttings, just enough to add a little moisture to the soil.. its been about 3 weeks and it still has not rooted, but the cuttings are still very green and look like they are doing well. I have been reading up on the ric rac cactus to get educated about its care. hoping my little cuttings will root soon and grow into a nice healthy plant!

This is an old thread, I know. I also started watering plants with leftover coffee. I also use the coffee grounds added to potting soil sometimes (what doesn't get thrown in the compost). I did notice ants in some plants sitting on the ground & I don't know if they were attracted to the black coffee (no sugar or creamer). Something to watch out for before bringing plants back indoors.
