Birds have gone crazy!!!!

Yep, it is 10:38 am and almost 50° here in Georgia. It's gonna be another great day! BUT, the birds have all gone crazy this morning. I already have had visits by a group of 5 Bluebirds checking out all the houses, not to mention the Brown Headed Nuthatches. Anyone else been noticing this trend?

No activity here. Cold and dreary, but they haven't visited my feeder in over 2 weeks either.

Lots of little birds at the feeders today....one is so cute and small...little redhead with red chest....very pretty. Really sticks out amongst all the brown and black/white birds.

They wre gone for few days but are back now.

We always have lots of birds to watch from the house, since they have told their friends where all the free food is. I even put some watermelon rinds out that they are enjoying. Hopefully, they are a sign of an early Spring, since nature has a pretty good sense of those things, and I am so ready for it. So much clean up to do after the weeks of freezing weather, but today, we have warm needed rains to norish them. I'm grateful.

Yes, I am hoping it will be a sign of an early spring as well!!!! I haven't seen the Robin's in months and saw them yesterday as well.

They also say during the winter to put out chunks of potatoes. Has anyone tried that?

Found that raw potatoes are not good for birds, but cooked potatoes are. A few sites that I found with good info:

Thanks Grumpy. Now I will have some reading material

Funny how everyone has different opinions about wild birds and what they should or should not eat. Seems to me when we go to the farmer's market, the birds know what is good - lol!!!
