Thanks again everyone, you guys are too nice.
But, yeah, I agree, even a messy greenhouse is a little slice of paradise this time of year.

That is my treasured "Mickey Mouse" - Xanthosoma Atrovirens Albo-marginata monstrosum (how's that for a mouthful? )

Anyway, I don't do well with them, maybe its the winters here, and they get too cold? they look nice in the summer, but through winter, get blah ..then take all growing season to get back into shape...

would you want them, come spring? maybe do a trade, or something, together, I paid about $55 for them, and don't want them to just die, or to never flower...the pamela one is an award winning orchid I bought at the local greenhouse....afraid I'm going to do it in.... you are obviously good with orchids....so let me know if you want them and I'll send them when the weather turns nice again.
Sounds like a swap in the making BB, see how they do for you this winter, and let me know.

Oh, I do believe that we can make arrangements.

thank God for the copy and paste....I didn't want to try spelling that ...

that is beautiful!

I'm sure my orchids will make it, they always do, they just sit there and go a little dormant, by spring, they rush back to life, and once summer comes, they grow a little....but then it just gets too cold too fast for them to seem to get too far by the time they have to go dormant again, they were babied in a fantastic greenhouse until I bought them, and they've been complaining ever since....
sooo, I'll give them what they want and they are yours come the nice weather. Here are their names, so you can look them up

pot. Beaufort Gold "susan Fender"
Blc. Pamela Hetherington "coronation" -- has won awards, but now you couldn't tell. I paid a lot for this orchid, loved it, gorgeous purple blooms... wanting to get into plant shows, but I'm not proving to be good with them. I will blame my yucky weather and short growing season HA!

Thanks Beth, Bali, faeriebritches and Angie.
I've been so slack about keeping up with my picture taking recently, I'll have to try to do better.

No, you shouldn't feel silly to ask, some orchids have really lovely scent, and others have little.
Of these three, the dark one had the strongest scent at the time I was taking the photo, which was late in the afternoon. The other two had milder fragrance, but that may just be because they release their scent most powerfully at some other time of the day.
The Blue Butterfly has no scent that I've noticed, nor the Christmas Cactus.

Oh yeah, you know you can!!!
I have a few other things on my list for you, as well.
Looking forward to warm weather!!!

B'Bay, if you still feel like arranging a swap for your o'kids when the weather gets better, please let me know.

Smile- March Color - (photo heavy post)

Its a dreary, rainy day here.
I know that my outdoor plants are loving it, but I feel stuck inside, when I'd rather be out there playing in the dirt,
Since that's out,I thought it might be a good time to share some "now blooming" pix.

I've brought in several orchids from the glasshouse:

This Paphiopedilum is nearly spent now -
P. Supersuk 'Eureka' x P. Raisin Pie 'Hsinying' - the flower will not last much longer,
but this pic was taken a while back, when it was fresher.
I really treasure this next one, it was a Valentine's Day gift from my hubby a few years ago,
I love the cute little heart (upside down) on the lip.
BLC Husky Boy 'Romeo' -

Can you tell that I like bright colors? *lol*
This one is nearly the same shade of orange as my wall paint.
LC Volcano Sunset 'Yuki' -

And here's another one with splashy color,
Phalaenopsis Long Pride Treasure 'MP-0485' -

But I have an appreciation for less gaudy, more elegant looking flowers too,
such as this other Phal - unfortunately, I do not know her proper name.
Check out this amazing little gem - which is blooming out in the glasshouse
Dendrobium aphyllum
(many thanks to a generous swapper for sharing this with me )

And last but not least, this Dendrobium nobile has been inside, bloomin' away for over a month now,
some of the old flowers are fading, but there are still several buds yet to open,
it will last for a few more weeks, what a hard worker.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look, I hope you enjoyed.
