Thistle tree craft

Here is a thistle tree done. Decorate however you wish. I just prefer the country homade look. I am out of the christmas spray snow so i will add to it later.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. You can do a wreath in the same manner. WEAR GLOVES!!! Thistles really hurt.

TalkingLOVE it!

Sooo cool! Your tree looks GREAT!
When I lived in WA state, I had a dear friend who made a "Teasel Tree" for me - very much like this one in your photos.
I thought it was fantastic, I used it for quite a few years, and always thought of Judy so warmly ...
Well, I still think of Judy , but alas, the tree is long gone - it finally began to disintigrate and I was forced to get rid of it.
Teasel does not grow here, so I can't make a new one, but it is a lovely memory.

Tiger, I took one more look at them.... and figured out that you must have spray painted the thistle..... at first glance I thought that the thistle was underneath, and you must have put pine needles on top..... that really is neat. If someone is allergic to pine needles, that would be a great option (except if they are also allergic to thistle!)

Are they time consuming? Those would be great to take to nursing homes, and given to those that can't get out of bed!

Yep, I painted it. Don't spray to much. I like the brown underside for the perfect look. They look so real don't they? That would be great for those allergic to pine or just that you need a small decorated tree for something. They are not time consuming but hurtful. lol! Our biggest problem this year is finding the thistle. Doesn't seem to be as much for some reason. We just went looking for more so i can do a wreath to show you guys. I hope I haave enough for tomorrow. Hubby was so funny Cutting the thistle for me and mumbling about the guys at work saying what did you do for your wife last night. Oh, just tramping around the fields cutting thistle and getting poked. lol! That is true love. You can probably start to finish one in a couple hours. I cut off the end of my left thumb yrs. ago ( I am left handed) so it takes me awhile to do the little tedious parts. I just can't feel the stuff. You could use already decorations which would save time. I hot glue everything. lol! I am all about hot glue, staples and duct tape. Something else I use is potporuri. Smells good but has lots of pretty natural things to use also. I will post the wreath when i get it done.
