Here in the south pineapple take 18 months to produce its fruit... I have two or three left that I am growing... Need to be getting more because I LOVE pineapples...

Going to go look for that video... Sound interesting...

Be sure to watch the video to the finish, Shrooms N Blooms. It's pretty cool.


He doesn't realize though that if he pinches off the flower buds, the plants will continue to grow, instead of seeding. Much like basil does.

Raccoon, I have not (I don't like pineapple), but my sister did. Took 2 summers and she had to bring it in over the winters. She did get a couple small pineapples though. It would work much better for someone with either a greenhouse or who lives in the south.

Oh I can't wait to see them when you've got them potted up!!!


Cut them about 4 inches, so you're leaving some green. You can soak them in water for a few hours before planting them but it isn't really necessary. Just give them a good soaking once they're planted. They will start growing within a couple hours!

I am going bananas over plants... and I am all for growing my produce...will show pics soon...

does anyone know how to clean out the pics on here to make room for new ones?

Thats a good idea Raccoon... i have all my canning recipes in a scrap book, and all my personal recipes, will need to start one for gardening as well...

Yes, growing your own produce is awesome. I fertilize mine with organic formulas. Can't wait to start snipping my own green onions again.


If you feed them, they get bigger and greener.
