who freezes corn?

Every year I put up 25-30 qt bags of creamed corn in the freezer. I used to freeze whole ears but they take up so much room in the freezer.
I did 18 qts. yesterday and have 4 more bushels yet from the 1st picking;
the late corn will not fill out if we don't get some badly needed rain.
I want to tell you about a great invention that I have been using for 25 yrs.
I paid $2.99 for it. It is a lot higher now. It is a huge time saver for cutting corn off the cob. It is called Lee's Corn Cutter:

Just thought I would pass it along in case someone else puts up a lot of corn and could use a good tool in the process. (It also helps if your dh lends a hand by changing the kettles of water for blanching)

You are busy!

I just canned some peaches and it takes hours til I dip and peel and make syrup then process. I work more than full time. Sure is lots of work. I don't have a deep freeze at this time but would like one. Good luck with your corn.

My mother freezes corn every year. She's been using one of those corn cutters for I know 30 years. Ever since before I can remember.

They are SO awesome. Very simple and VERY practical.
I really, truly advise anyone to get one of those if they freeze the cut corn.

Normally the corn is eaten long before anyone thinks about freezing it! Think I'll have to buy a bigger freezer, and till more garden space!!

I've been using

one of those for years to, my mom use one to. When she passed I got hers, so now I have 2. One for me an one for DH come corn creaming time. I use to blanch mine an now I don't. I experimented one year with not blanching an it didn't effect them at all. Big time saver! Usually its all eaten in a year anyway. I still put some up on the cob and use the Vaccume (sp) seal bags an they work great.
