AngryRabbits--Help!

Cute little varmints eating everything. How do you get the pesky critters out of your garden? They only come out at night =passed my bedtime. I don't want to kill them==just keep them out of my garden. Eating everything including Hollyhock, monkey grass and digging my bulbs. Plus have noticed fleas for the first time. Any suggestions?

Rabbits

Hi,

If you or someone you know has a dog, you can use their hair.
I received some Star of Bethlehem in a a trade and couldn't wait for it to bloom. The rabbits kept eating all the leaves, until I tried dog hair.
Every time I brush my dog, I save his hair to tuck around the plants. When the wind or maybe birds remove it, I just replace.

Thanks Linjohn--got a friend with a chow-chow--enough hair to run off legions--will give it a try.

I take one garlic clove and one hot pepper, put them in a blender, and chop them up. I add to this, water to fill the blender 3/4 way up, and whirr till blended well. I put this into a spray bottle with a drop of dish soap. shake, and spray on my plants. It is organic, and keeps the deer, rabbits and other critters off. It also works to deter aphids and a few leaf eating bugs.
Doesn't hurt plants or veggies.

I don't use it for birds, as they do not hate the heat recepters in the mouth, but it works good to keep squirrels out of my bird feeders, if I add some dryed and chopped hot peppers alone, to the bird feed.

I also use the hair, and even add ours, saved from haircuts here. If you don't cut your own, most barber/ beauty shops can give you a batch of it on any given day.

Hope some of this helps.
Brenda

I've heard taht planting marigolds around outside of plant shall deter varmints! I have a baby native rose that my bunnies have had a heyday with so I'm going to try the marigold trick. We'll see, lol!
