Pineapple Sage

This year I decided to get my herb garden started in one of the front flower beds. I got pineapple sage as one of the plants. It is a nice big plant now and doing very well. Problem is it does not smell at all like pineapple sage now. It does not look like the sage I am used to even. I am not sure if it even is pineapple sage.
Does it loose its smell as it matures? Thank you for any advice.

I have pineapple sage. It makes a fairly large plant with red spikey blooms.......around this time of year. I don't know that mine has ever smelled like a pineapple. I will check it when I can remember.

Did it ever smell like pineapple sage though?

Try taking a leaf and crushing it up, smell it then.
