Mango Melon or Vine Peach


Can anyone tell me what have I here? The envelope sayd Mango melon?
Heres what it came up as... Looks like a squash with watermelon leaves.. Help!! It was a product of Rare seeds com or Baker Greek Heirloom seed co.

Any one know?? ;(

Hey Bali
As far as I can tell, what is now being called "Mango Melon" is an old, heirloom type of vine (scientifically 'Cucumis melo var chito') which produces small, very seedy fruits which are yellow on the outside and white on the inside and have a mild, sort of cucumbery/melony flavor.

My understanding is that the fruits have been used to make into pickles since back in Victorian times.

Yes that is what it says on the pkt.
However the melon growing out there isn't a round thing
I show the photo of what it looks like right now.
It is shaped like a squash an is large...

All false information on that.

Not a small round melon at all,..
