Information about magnolia vine?

Although this sounds like a flowering vine, it is supposed to be grown for it's berries. I recently purchased it on a whim after reading the tag, which stated it is hardy, vigorous, a self-pollinator and has wonderful berries.

Once I got it home, I researched it and discovered conflicting information about the pollination: A lot of the info I found indicates it needs both sexes of vine to produce fruit. Apparently it will produce flowers, but no berries...

Can anyone provide info about this vine? Also, how can I tell if I have a male or female?

Thank you!!
