Heirloom Tomatoes

Just thought I`d let ya all know I grow heirloom tomatoes each year. They were brought over from Italy years ago by a dear friend whose father still lives there. THEY ARE DELISH!! Oh the name of them is Oxheart.

One thing I really enjoy about the imported crushed/strained tomatoes I get from the specialty food store is how alkaline they taste - not acidic at all. I wonder if it is the soil/environment over there or the variety?

I don`t know bout that admin, but they are the solidest tomatoes I`ve ever eaten. Very meaty.

I don`t know if you can buy them here in the U.S. or not. Like I said these were brought over from Italy and my friend gave them to me. I save seeds each year and plant them.

TalkingOxheart-old seed

Hi, my mother in law just past away, she was a dear lady who loved to garden. Here is something odd. My husband found some ox heart seeds that she had saved from 1995. That's the year my daughter, granny's pet-lol-was born-I wonder if the seeds could possibly still be viable-it's kind of an interesting idea-and they are great tomatos, a sort of sentamental thing too.

They sound great!

Wow! Ya'll make them sound so good. Now I want some. Do they come back every year or do you have to plant the seeds every year?

If your seeds weren't spoken for before, they sur are all spoken for now. Hahahahahahah. You could have a fight on for those seeds or at least a bidding war.
