best kinds of garlic??

i saw the garlic post on here.. and i love garlic.. so i thought i'd make a post about it. i have looked for garlic online, but it always sells out so darn fast. lol

what varieties of garlic do you folks recommend & like the best? and what kind of soil & stuff do they prefer?

i have been buying garlic from a local farmer's market & it's awesome. the lady has several different kinds of garlic & they all taste great. i like to get a bunch of different kinds & then mince it all up real nice, & put it in those bags that have the little holes in them, so you can suck the air out of them.. you can put it in like butter stick shape or the easier method, just lay it out in a thin layer in the bag, suck the air out of it with that pump thing & freeze it nothing beats the wonderful taste of fresh garlic!

started growing garlic I bought a started 6 pack from The Garlic Store: http://www.thegarlicstore.com/ZenCart/Index.php, plus I've traded for some to. Now don't ask me the names of those garlic cuz I don't remember. But they are hardnecks. Its taken me about 3 yrs to finally get some decent size cloves. There is a lot of info online regarding soil requirements for growing garlic. Which I know can better explain it than I can.
