Bali,
Whoppie sounds like GobsI can't have sweets so
I Baked a big skillet of Cornbread today and my neighborhood store had just gotten some buttermilk in yesterday. so i had CB & Buttermilk for supper.

*Red Velvet Whoopie Pies*
cake cookie part
- 3cups all purp flour
3 tablespoons unsweetened (natural) cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 stick unsalted butter ,soften
1/4 cup veg oil
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar
2/3 cup well shaken buttermilk
2 tablespoons red food coloring

-FILLING-
8ounces cream cheese softened
1/2 stick butter softened
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups powdered sugar

preheat oven to 350
line two baking sheets with parchment paper
whisk together flour,cocoa powder,baking soda,salt in a bowl
beat butter,oil,and sugar with an electric mixer until well combined about two mintues beat in egg,vanilla,and vinegar
reduce speed to low and alternately mix in flour and buttermilk in batches, beginning and ending with flour mixture...combine well
add in red food coloring and again mix
spoon 2 tablespoon mounds onto parchment papered baking sheets
bake switching postions of baking sheets half way through baking until rounds are puffed and set about 8-10 mintues
slide parchment paper with cookies on to cooling racks
*filling*
beat together cream cheese,butter,lemon juice,vanilla,salt and powdered sugar until creamy about 1-2mins
spread filling onto flat part of cookie and add top cookie and wam whoopie pies...

this is how i make my monkeybread
its suuuuuuper easy and wayyyy yummy!
*Easy MonkeyBread*
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinn
2 cans of refrigerated can biscuits
1/2 cups nuts, add if youd like
1/2 cups raisins,add if youd like
1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup melted butter
***************************************
prehet oven 350
grease a bundt pan or a bundt like pan
in a large zip lock baggie mix sugar and cinn
separate dough into 16 biscuits cut in to quaters add pieces in to cinn/sugar baggie...shake and coat...
arrange in the pan adding nuts and rainsins between layers
in a small bowl mix melted butter with brown sugar pour over biscuits
bake 28-30 mins or until golden brown
let cool about 10 mins theb flip over onto a plate pull pieces apart and enjoy
serve warm

Lol, y'all are killing me with whoopies and gobs--never heard of either. But I'm getting a real kick out of this thread. Glad you shared the recipe peanut. At least now I know it's real and not a joke, lol

Nothin' my ovens not working...

But now I want some monkey bread lol

And a dang pepperoni which I haven't seen since leaving the northeast You just can't home make them like Julia's. I miss Chicos Mountaineer Bread too.

Oh Minty, I bet you are going to see a Julia's pepperoni roll in your dreams at night. I'd bet you could become the most popular person in your town if you were to make some and give them to people to try. If you ever get to wanting some really bad, I could overnight you some maybe.
