tartlets

For the Crust:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter eight 3-inch tart pans.

In a medium bowl, mix together:

1 2/3 cups graham cracker crumbs,
2/3 cup melted butter,
1/2 cup finely chopped toasted pecans,
1/3 cup unpacked brown sugar.

Press this mixture firmly into tart pans. Place the pans on a cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely on a wire rack. Once cool, remove the crusts from the pans ever so gently.

For Filling:

With an electric mixer set on low speed, beat 1 lb. softened cream cheese and 1 cup confectioners' sugar until soft and creamy. Add 1/4 cup sour cream and 1 tsp. vanilla extract. Beat well until combined. Cover with plastic wrap and chill the filling for about one hour. Fill tartlet shells with this mixture and decorate with berries and other fruits of the season. Enjoy!

nope, not yet, but i bet they're yummy! i am on a diet, and my oven is broken, so i can't bake anything right now or else i'd make some, cause they look so yummy!. i have to use my grandma's or my aunt's oven when i wanna bake until my oven gets fixed. when i get a new camera, i'll take pictures of stuff i make & the garden area & stuff.

i don't usually eat sweets, either. but i love baking. i wish i had the time to be one of those people that get to stay home & bake all day. i do make bread every friday, though, for shabbat (sabbath). challa bread. i can braid it 5 different ways. love challa bread!

Challah, yum!

Ang, I think Hanukkah may be her holiday if she's baking challa on Fridays.

I'd rather have the challah than the tarts, Onyx! My favorite! I'm a fan of bread-making but haven't tried challa yet. Ever made bread pudding with challa bread? Absolutely fantastic!

Shoot, that's why you diet for a couple months before Thanksgiving and Christmas, so you can pig out and be ok afterwards! ROFLMBO
