My favorite Habanero Salsa Fresca

Finely chop three Habaneros
Finely chop an equal amount of onion
Coarsely chop 5 to 7 sprigs of Cilantro
Add 1/4 tsp of kosher salt
Squeeze one half of a Mexican Lime
Stir together and serve

Gardeningmom, do you think we can take the recipe's people post, and actually publish them and sell them, like a plantswap fundraiser?

How about a rice pudding recipe, and a rhubarb pie recipe?

Yes smurfy the intention was/is to "publish" the book and then sell it here in the Plantswap store. I am having problems trying to get into the "publishing" format but I plan on making that my project for this winter!

I think a canning section to the book would be terrific!

Ok here is a couple canning recipe's . They're both good.

Hot mustard.
1 qt. prepared mustard
1 qt. vinegar
6 cps. sugar ( I use 1/2 honey ) like the good stuff in honey and makes it smooth
1 1/2 cps. flour
2 cps. water
1 qt. puree peppers ( leave a few seeds for hotter) I also use some red for color in the mustard.

Bring mustard, vinegar and sugar mixture to a boil. Whisk water and flour together then slowly stir into mustard mixture. Add pepper puree . Hot water bath pints for 20 min. and qts. for 30 min. Makes about 6 pints. Really good with Braat's and with chicken tenders.

Pickled Corn

Bring 1 cup of pickling salt and 1 gallon of water to a boil. Pack corn into jars then add salt water to jars of corn. Hot water bath for 10 min. for pints. When openening jars of corn, drain juice and rince quickly. Fry in bacon grease or with bacon. So good. I know not good on my arteries but it is a treat. lol!! If your in a spot and need the corn for a meal just drain and soak corn in water and change it a few times. Then cook as normal.

I have a few more i will try to get tomorrow. Tomato soup. UUUmmm Good.

Easy Peanut Butter Cookies

This the quickest receipe I have come across.

1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup peanut butter

Combine all ingredients. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Teaspoon size balls. Press with top of the peanut butter jar. Bake 10-12 minuets at 325 degrees. Place on cooling rack. This receipes can be doubled or tripled
