Ha,Ha, Ha, it's funny you are asking about them. The woman I work with was just talking about making them. I love them and do make them but no one in my house will eat them except me, so I usually have to freeze some.

you use pig meat?

I was brought up to have pigs in a blanket, we do like making filling for stuffed peppers. We use ground beef an a egg and some rice then put on cabbage leaves and roll up and hold together with toothpick, put in a pot with tomato sauce? What is your way???????

That's our way. Bali we do grow brussel sprouts also, love them. Never had any problem growing them. The eggplants didn't do well this year.

What you call Pigs in a blanket and what we call pigs in a blanket is totally different...I had to look yours up,, for I didn't understand what the cabbage was for... Here is how we make our so called

Pigs in a Blanket....

cresent rolls or can bisquits (bisquits you can pull apart and make 2)
tiny smoked link sauage (or take weiners and cut into four pieces, long ways) roll the smoked sauage or weiners up in the crescent rolls or seperated bisquits, put on baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.. Dip in mustard...Really Good....

But will have to try yours though.... Ya'll know how us Southerner's do things a little different..

But really try these if you'd like.. So Good .....Blessings

My pigs in blanket.

Cabbage leaves cooked till pliable
Save the water

cook rice
beef
salt
pepper

roll the mix up into the leaf
set around so the ends dont uncurl

pour back the cabbage water. Add jar of stewed tomatoes.
And cook on top of the stove till done.

I use my dutch oven pot to make those.
We love cooking in a dutch oven.
Those are my canned stew tomatoes.........I would not do without.

Hi,
Thanks for the recipe . I have not had these since my Bobche died. Im Irish & Polish. My boyfriend is Polish & French. He's never had any real home cooked Polish food I'll have to fix that. Any body know of Pigoshi? It's like a flat potato & cheese pizza.
