baked bacon

Y'all, I was baking pizzas for my boys and they wanted bacon to go with the pizza. So instead of frying on my stovetop I had just cleaned, I stuck the bacon on a cookie sheet and put in the oven with the pizzas. It was awesome, cooked just perfect, not to hard and not to soft, it was so tender. I don't think I'll even fry it again. It was that good. My boys loved it.

Did it have much grease in bottom of oven?
I can make myself sick eating to much bacon.

Yes, totally...it was just sooooo good. I don't like it microwaved, hard to do on an indoor grill and grease goes everywhere when frying. When my oldest son cooks, oh great day, grease just absolutely everywhere, not just on the stove top either.

Bacon is one of my favorite things to eat but with high cholesterol it is not something I can do often. Just like Cathy, I could eat myself sick on bacon just love the taste. I may have to make myself a BLT for evening snack though. My mind heard bacon and sent a hunger for it to my tummy.

Cathy--the cookie sheet pan that I used has a lip maybe 1/2inch high so grease did not escape the pan. Peanut that does sound great, I'll have to try it. I can't eat it often either cause of cholesterol, I don't want to have to take medicine and mine was a little high last time at the dr. I just hope it's not high when I go again. I only had like a piece and a half, so I wasn't to naughty. But gosh was it good.

I love bacon but I can't eat too much. My neighbor always makes it and the smell overwhelms my house, which is just evil when one is dieting.

I want to try candied bacon for cookies and ice cream.

You guys are making me hungry! My youngest son, who is 8, reminds me of the dog on the Beggin Strips commercial...when I am cooking bacon, he comes running! I have to hide it until time to eat, or he will eat the whole plate. I will definitely try baking it, sounds so much easier! Ty Tess!

Yw castle, lol, your son sounds like my oldest, lol, just wait till he's old enough to learn to cook it and sneaks into the kitchen and cooks himself the whole pack, quickly eats it, gets rid of the evidence and smile like a Cheshire cat when you ask him where the bacon went, lol

AWWWWWWWWW Bacon! yummmm! What I do when I bake bacon is to use my broiler pan that has drip holes in the top section. That way the grease drips off the bacon down into the bottom pan instead of the bacon sitting in the grease.
