Phoenix-Tucson: Desert Dweller

Hi all,

Is there anyone out there from Arizona...I live in both Tucson and Phoenix...I'd love to talk with some other gardeners out there and maybe swap some plants...I don't have a lot to trade right now b/c I'm in college and don't have many resources to put into a garden, but would love to get to the point where I can offer a better trade...

See ya round,
Kim

Hi Kim, Even if your not close enough to anyone to make a swap a person, you can always swap through the mail. Some of us will send plants or cuttings for postage also. And if you dont want to do either of those, thats fine also. Theres plenty of friendship and knowledge here. Glad you joined us. Enjoy the site!!

Swapping in the mail gets pretty hectic around here in cooler months. Right now the heat is preventing a lot of swapping but, come fall, we'll all start jumping again. The heat here in Oklahoma practically kills the plants before I get them to the post office lately! Heck, some a pretty wilty while they're still in the ground-and I water faithfully each day more than a sprinkle. This summer's been real dry.

Thanks

Hi everyone and thanks...

I'll look forward to the cooler months when we can all start planting more and watering less. I'm trying to help my roomate with her yard. We are planning to do half the yard as edibles and the other half native....hope to do some rainwater harvesting as well. First we have to kill a whole lot of Bermuda grass which is proving to be QUITE the task. Wish me luck! Thanks for your support and comments.

Kim

Hi Kim ... I'm nowhere near Arizona ... way over on the shore of NC,
but I still wanted to be sure to welcome you to the board.
