CoolNorfolk Island Pine

What is the cold hardiness of the Norfolk Island Pine Tree. I have an approximately 3 year old tree that has been indoors and I would like to plant it outside if it would live. I live in zone 6a.

Zone 9 or warmer. You can keep it potted outdoors during summer but don't expose it to below 40 degree temps. We left ours outdoors in Houston, potted in Zone 9a to 35 degrees and it did ok but I wouldn't test it beyond that. They are native to tropical islands in the south pacific.
The botanical name is Araucaria heterophylla. Found this site on Google. http://www.floridata.com/ref/A/arau_het.cfm

SmileThank you

Thanks for the info. I had a Norfolk Island Pine that I planted outside in Florida and it did great there. I was just wondering how far north you could plant them. I know some people have had success but it's rare.
