My poor Peach Tree!

I think my Peach Tree has scab? The peaches are little and all spotty, and the bark has blackish discharge from it. I even planted a hosta under it, and it even turned yellow spots all over it. What is happening? ANd how do I stop it?
Thanks in advance

Check out www.organicgardening.com and type in peach tree diseases. They usually have some great info. Sorry to hear about your tree, hope you can find an answer. Good luck.

Peach tree

I have 1 peach tree and last year, thats what I think I had, was scab, looked in my book. Says the fruit does not get big and dark spots. It also says it is still edible but you have to peel them. I never really got any fruit? I am just learning a little about fruit trees.Good luck with yours.

Do you think my husband should cut the whole thing down, I hate to, because the tree is 10 years old, but I dont want the other trees getting sick too,
I have a Magnolia near by , and a fig tree near by and also 30 tomatoe plants close.

Do you have a county extension office you can contact. For example I had 3 shrubs growing on our property that I had no idea what they were. I was a volunteer, the other 2 came from my mother-in-law's property and she didn't know either. Went to Lehigh County Cooperative Extension, got some help. They're there for that kind of thing. Master gardeners help out and it's free! Check into that but honestly it doesn't sound good. When my hubby and I first married there was a sour cherry tree that became diseased and it started to spread to an ash tree that was within 20 ft. of it and the cherry had to come down. Keep us posted.

Before I'd even consider cutting down a 10 yr old peach tree I'd find out exactly what the disease is and be committed to spraying it with the appropriate chemical to give the tree the best possible chance at pulling through. If you are diligent-you might save a tree that will give you years of great fruit!

Thanks, I am going to look into it
SO far I identified the borer (sp) where an insect is making bore holes in the bark, it oozes. And a bacterial disease, We are seeing about sprays, I made a mistake the tree is 20 years old
