Japanese Maple Tree Seeds


I have some Japanese Maple Tree Seeds.....can someone tell me the best way to germinate them....also, has anyone ever used these for Bonsai? thanks

That's beautiful tree. Yes, I saw many of those in bonsai size. Just can't help the best way to germinate them, never had nor grew it. If you plenty, do some trial with seedling soil and put it in the container as greenhouse. Good luck.

They are not very easy,I have had some experience.First you have to soak them in warm water for 24 hours,then you put them in a ziplock bag with moistened papertowel and keep them in the fridge door ,after few weeks start checking them out ,Some will sprout.Then you have to plant them in some light soil with sand on top and keep the sand moist.They have high mortality rate.Good luck

Not sure about the money making opportunity he subscribes to, but he does seem to know how to grow stuff from seed.

I don't have much to add, other than the cold stratification is important - they are easy, given that is done.
Just keep in mind that the seedlings will not necessarily look like the mother plant.
