ID this tree! and you are good!Hi everyone! I bought some big nuts in Taiwan. Had a thin light brown skin and they told me to peel it off and plant the nut half way in. I did. Now i have a small tree (probably will grow taller) and this winter it bloomed. On top, about 5-6 flowers, first light yellow then turned orange-red. Looks very much like freesias. Who can ID this? Would really like to know what it is. THANKS, CALIN ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| I have no idea what it is, but the flowers remind me of the "flame of the forest" tree they have in Costa Rica. The flowers appear on the top of the tree and from a distance, a grove of them can look like they are on fire. |

Got The IdHi, thanks for trying and for the tip ![]() It is in fact Castanospermus Australe. Or Queensland Black Bean. Apparently from Australia. Someone from there sent me a message. I will definitely take good care of it. Out of 5 flowers, 2 fell down but 3 still alive. I hope they will set fruit. Slim chances, but I have to hope ![]() THANKS, Calin |
