Awesome! I planted ~7 fruit trees in my back yard. So far, the satsuma orange tree has been the best producer, but I've also had some decent figs and apples.

We have a wild cherry tree in our backyard. It's beautiful, but my mother in law tells me that the cherry are not the kind you eat.

I just looked up some pictures of the weeping cherry tree... and I have to have it! It's beautiful. I've always love the pink Japaneses trees (I think they are cherry trees) and those look exactly like it.

Do you know if you can eat the cherries of a weeping cherry tree? Beauty and flavor would just make my day!

We have 2 ornamental Japanese cherry trees in our landscape,
a Yoshino and a weeping variety ( I've forgotten the variety, if I ever knew it).
Both of them set relatively few and very tiny fruits ( smaller than your pinkie fingernail).
Not tasty to the human palate ( guess who just had to taste test them),
most fall off while still green, but the few that do ripen are enjoyed by the birds.

Weeping cherry

We have a weeping cherry tree but it's strictly ornamental, doesn't fruit. We're in zone 6a in my part of PA and my neighbor grows pears. Good luck!
